INTERSECTION Rocks Ford Show in Ottawa

As spring begins to blanket the Capital Region, preparations continue for the Second Annual National All Ford Show, which has quickly grown to become the largest Ford enthusiast show in the city. Aside from the checking out the dazzling collection of vehicles, attendees will be able to participate in a Mustang Trivia Contest for prizes, attend technical seminars by world renowned speakers, compete for one of forty class trophies and now... kick back and experience INTERSECTION.

INTERSECTION is a professional musical entertainment group that plays great English and French songs from the 50's onwards in various Classic Rock and R&B styles. Originally formed in Ottawa, Ontario, in September 1996, INTERSECTION's musical ability and its professional attitude make it one of the Ottawa Valley's premiere Classic Rock and R&B bands.

Some of the group's more notable gigs have included multiple appearances at the Canadian Parliamentary Press Gallery Dinner at the Museum of Civilisation, the ever-popular Rockin' For Risk fundraising dance for autistic children at the Nepean Sportsplex - which they have done since its inception in 2001, the Miss Harley-Davidson Outaouais show at the Bob Guertin arena and the 25th Anniversary 'invitation only' Party for the Cage Aux Sports in Gatineau.

"We are pleased to have one of the Capital's best classic rock bands join us at the 2nd Annual National All Ford Show, at Sterling Ford in Ottawa... even more so because the band leader owns a Mustang himself," commented the Show's organizer, Stephane Ritchot. The National All Ford Show runs on Saturday, May 9, at Sterling Ford, 1425 Ogilvie in Ottawa, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission for spectators is free.

Supporting the Champions for Children foundation, the fund raising foundation of the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa, exhibitors at the National All Ford Show are being requested to provide a new or gently used backpack that will be filled for needy families as the new school year approaches. More than one hundred cars have pre-registered to attend the show.

Additional information and online pre-registration is available at the event web site.

About Our Charity of Choice

Champions For Children Foundation is the fund raising foundation of the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa and our purpose is to fund prevention programs that are not funded through government funding.

The mandate of the Champions for Children Foundation is to raise funds and to heighten public awareness of the growing need to protect the rights and brighten the futures of children and youth at risk in the community.

What the Champions For Children Foundation is able to accomplish, through the generosity of sponsors and donors and events such as these, is similar to a drop of water falling into a large pond that causes a ripple effect, which in turn affects many more lives in such a profound way.

Studies show that prevention is the key. In fact, every $1 spent on prevention saves as much as $7 in the long-term, resulting in lower costs for health care, social services, remedial education and welfare.

Champions For Children Foundation's Pillars of Prevention were created and launched on June 7th, 1999. This was, and continues to be, an innovative solution designed to stop child abuse before it starts.

The power that is given to our children and youth through our programs - by knowing that someone believes in them, even if it can’t be their own parents, gives them the courage to believe in themselves to create a different life for themselves and their future families.

As a matter of fact, as designated funds, 100 percent of every dollar raised goes directly to support the programs. There is no administration burden within Pillars of Prevention.

The Champions For Children Foundation is a Canadian Charitable organization created in 1992. Registration number 89754 6735 RR 0001.

Welcome!

Hi there, all you crazy car fans!!!

Just before the holidays, I'm coming to you with a request! We've started planning your Ford Show for May 9th, 2009!! We are betting on this one being the biggest Ford show ever held in Ottawa.

In order to assure the success of this show, I'm appealing to your creativeness and asking you for suggestions. So far, I can tell you that we've secured more sponsors than last year, the prizes are bigger and of greater number.

We have increased by far the amount of vendors for you to visit. Even with all of this, I would still like to make this your show and to your liking. If you have any suggestions or comments, please let me know. I will be glad to address them and hopefully add new items to the show!!!!

Happy Holidays to all!!!
Stephane Ritchot
